The Qatari Prime Minister has just announced that a ceasefire will officially begin in Gaza this Sunday, 12:15 PM local time.
My apologies for clogging your inbox twice in one evening. I will update this page as more information comes out.
While the clauses of the ceasefire have not been announced officially yet, Hamas has indicated the following:
In the first phase of the ceasefire, 250 Palestinian prisoners condemned to life terms will be freed, 400 prisoners condemned to ‘severe penalties’, and 1000 Gazans that have been kidnapped by the IOF since October 7 2023.
The Rafah Crossing between Gaza and Egypt will be open 7 days after the start of the ceasefire.
Palestinians in the streets of Gaza are already celebrating. 15 months of siege did not break them; nothing can break them.
In 2023, Nethanyahu said “There will be no more Hamas”. Today his thugs are leaving Gaza having achieved nothing but destroying their settler project.
Yahya Sinwar has won; we can only deplore that he did not live to see this. But now the time is for celebration.
But remember: a ceasefire is only a ceasefire. It is not peace. There cannot be peace in Gaza nor in Palestine as long as “Israel” exists.
It will be important to keep our eyes on what happens after the ceasefire. We know that “Israel” likes to commit massacres before and after ceasefires are officially secured. Gaza will need to rebuild, and “Israel” and the United States need to pay for it.
Statement from Hamas reads as follows:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
On the Announcement of a Ceasefire Agreement and the Aggression on the Gaza Strip. The ceasefire agreement is the result of the legendary steadfastness of our great Palestinian people and our valiant resistance in the Gaza Strip over the course of more than 15 months.
The agreement to halt the aggression on Gaza is an achievement for our people, our resistance, our nation, and the free people of the world. It marks a pivotal stage in the ongoing struggle against the enemy, paving the way toward achieving our people's goals of liberation and return.
This agreement comes as part of our responsibility toward our steadfast and patient people in the proud Gaza Strip, to put an end to the zionist aggression against them and halt the waterfall of blood, massacres, and the genocide war they are subjected to.
We express our appreciation and gratitude for all the honorable official and popular stances that stood in solidarity with Gaza, supported our people, and contributed to exposing the occupation and stopping the aggression—whether Arab, Islamic, or international. Special thanks go to the brotherly mediators who exerted significant efforts to reach this agreement, especially Qatar and Egypt.

Lol. The ceasefire takes effect one DAY before Trump is sworn into office. This is the most non-coincidental thing I've seen so far this year.
““Israel” likes to commit massacres before and after ceasefires are officially secured” is an expected fact, by more people now, since Biden’s genocide accelerated the occupation’s Nakba, for an apartheid state, by vetoing international law.
